In honor of Valentine’s Day, and inspired by this letter from my dear friend to her clients, I wanted to write you a love letter. So here goes.
I think you’re the bee’s knees. Whether we’ve been working together for weeks or years, I can already see improvements in your Pilates practice. You’re taking bigger breaths, balancing longer, and standing taller.
I admire your dedication to your practice. By showing up and being consistent, you are changing the way you move during our sessions and those changes translate over into your everyday movements. You’re taking Pilates out into the world because it now lives in your body.
I like that some days you’re a puzzle because your knee hurts or your spine doesn’t want to rotate and we have to work together to find the right Pilates movements for you that day. I like that you tell me stories about your work, your kids, your hobbies, your grandkids, and retirement. Part of this work is building community, and I’m thankful to you for that.
My favorite moments are when you unlock your own potential and do a new move or take your practice further than you believed it could go. Or when you tell me that you were able to do something at home — like getting down and playing on the floor, moving pain-free, or sleeping better — because of Pilates.
In short, I think you’re great, and I am so thankful that you’ve chosen to practice Pilates with me.
